Tehran, Oct 20, IRNA - Leader's representative and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said on Monday that Iran is fully ready to cooperate with United Nation as the only legitimate authority to confront the terrorists groups.
Shamkhani, made the remarks in a meeting with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura in Tehran.
The two officials also discussed the latest political and security developments in Syria.
Touching on the unsuccessful international conferences to end the Syrian crisis, the Iranian side stressed the need for reconsidering the wrong policies, supporting the real demands of Syrian people and helping the Arab state establish security and unity.
The irresponsible behavior of some certain regional and western countries, he added, in arming the opposition groups and provoking them to kill the people are considered as the main obstacles on the way of establishing peace in Syria.
De Mistura, for his part, called for using the Islamic Republic of Iran's valuable experience in the settlement of Syrian crisis.
The UN envoy cited the political solution as the best way for settling the Syrian crisis, and confronting the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL, also known as Daesh) terrorist group in the region.
