Iranian parliamentary team to visit Vietnam
TEHRAN (Tasnim) The Iranian parliament is expected to dispatch a 5-strong delegation to Vietnam in the near future, a lawmaker announced.

Hossein Sobhani-Nia, the head of Iran-Vietnam parliamentary friendship group, told Tasnim that the delegation will leave for the East Asian nation in the second half of the Iranian month of Aban (November 6-21).

According to Sobhani-Nia, the team of Iranian legislators -to be led by himself- will hold meetings with members of Vietnam-Iran parliamentary friendship group and a number of other Vietnamese officials in the upcoming trip.

In early September and in a meeting with Vietnams new ambassador to Tehran, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani hailed common stances adopted by Iran and Vietnam in the international arenas and called for continued cooperation between the two countries.

There is no obstacle to the development of relations between Iran and Vietnam, President Rouhani said at the time.

Vietnam and Iran established diplomatic relations on August 4, 1973.

Vietnam was among the first countries to recognize the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
