Damascus, Sept 30, IRNA Visiting Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani conferred on Tuesday with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on issues of mutual interests, regional and global developments.
The Syrian president appreciated the Iranian Supreme leader, government and people for their support to the Syrian nation.
The two officials reviewed latest developments in the region and the success of the Syrian government to restore stability and security in the country.
The Iranian official praised the brave resistance of Syrian government and nation to the Takfiri terrorist groups in the country.
President al-Assad said that the Syrian government gave priority to improve national economy and reconstruction of war-stricken regions.
They also discussed the support made by some foreign countries for the terrorist groups in Syria mainly Daesh Takfiri group.
Meanwhile, Shamkhani met with his Syrian counterpart on regional developments.
Shamkhani leading a politico-security delegation arrived in Damascus Tuesday afternoon.
On the first leg of his regional tour, Shamkhani visited Lebanon and met with the country's high ranking officials.
During his meeting with the Lebanese leaders, Shamkhani voiced the Iranian readiness for expansion of defense cooperation as well as dispatch of military equipment to the Lebanese.
