Tehran, Sept 28, IRNA Iran's Deputy Police Commander Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari said Canada has admitted the presence of Mahmoud Reza Khavari in its territory.
Khavari, the former Managing Director of Bank Melli, fled the country in September 2011 on embezzlement charges.
He said the Canadian Police had up to recent days refused to admit Khavari's presence there but now said he was in Canada.
He said that this was a good success for the Iranian police which enabled it to take further steps forward.
The commander also said the police was seriously working on Khavari's case once the Canada Police issues Khavari's extradition verdict.
