TEHRAN Sept 27 (Shana)--Iran's petrochemical production has been up 5% year-on-year since the beginning of the current calendar year to March 2014, an NPC official said.
The petrochemical production of the country has been rising since the new Rouhani administration took office last June and is expected to rise in the future, said Ali Mohammad Bosaghzadeh, an official with the National Petrochemical Company.
Bosaghzadeh said the surplus of Iran's petchem output has been exported to foreign destinations besides supplying the domestic demand for the products.
He said a major leap in the amount of petchem products supplied by Iranian plants is expected in the near future given detailed planning by the NPC.
He also underlined the 9th Iran Plast as a great opportunity for petchem producers to reach out for foreign industrialists of the sector. Thirteen countries have represented in this years Iran Plast exhibition in Tehran, the head of Iran Plast has said. Hadi Zonouzi said 760 Iranian and foreign companies have participated in the event, adding that the figure is breaking previous records.
He said Italy, Austria, Turkey, Taiwan, South Korea, China and India are attending in pavilions while Britain, Germany, Spain, Greece, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates are attending independently in the event. Iran Plast is planned to run through September 29.
