TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans President Hassan Rouhani said the sooner the nuclear issue is resolved the better for everyone.There is no doubt that the nuclear issue (dispute over Irans peaceful nuclear energy program) will be resolved at the negotiating table one day but the sooner it takes place the better it will serve everyones interest, Rouhani said Wednesday in meeting with President of European Council, Herman Van Rampoy in New York.
He said there is no other solution for the nuclear issue than understanding (between Iran and world powers).
The Iranian chief executive underlined his governments determination for logical talks over Tehrans civilian nuclear program, adding that the Geneva Deal proved negotiations can be fruitful.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on November 24, 2013, signed an interim nuclear deal in the Swiss city of Geneva.
Based on the deal, the world powers agreed to suspend some non-essential sanctions and to impose no new nuclear-related bans in return for Tehran's decision to freeze parts of its nuclear activities.
In July, Tehran and the six countries agreed to extend negotiations until November 24 in the hope of clinching a final deal.
Describing a possible agreement as foundation of new trust, Rouhani said a nuclear deal will not be about the nuclear issue per se but what matters is the atmosphere it will create in which many problems could be resolved through cooperation.
The Iranian president has been holding several meetings with foreign counterparts and senior officials in New York, which has brought world leaders together for the 69th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly.
