German FM upbeat on further progress in Iran nuclear talks

Berlin, Sept 25, IRNA -- German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed optimism that further progress could be achieved in the nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers ahead of the November 24 deadline, according to German press reports.
Speaking at the UN in New York after the speech of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Steinmeier said he was upbeat on moving ahead in the nuclear negotiation process.
He added that both sides had never been this close over the past 10 years when it came to their positions.

Steinmeier made however clear that neither of the two sides had reached the point where one could speak of an imminent solution of Iran's nuclear dispute.

Berlin has repeatedly stressed a comprehensive and lasting Iran nuclear agreement was doable.
