TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Hamid Sourian claimed his sixth world title in the world championships on Sunday.
In the final match held at the Gymnastics Palace in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the 59kg wrestler defeated Mingiyan Semenov from Russia 2-1 and won the title.
Sourian has previously won the gold medal at the 2005 Budapest, 2006 Guangzhou, 2007 Baku, 2009 Herning and 2010 Moscow.
Sourian also claimed a gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games as well as two Asian Championships gold medals in 2007 Bishkek and 2008 Jeju City respectively.
Norways Stig Andr Berge and Elmurat Tasmuradov from Uzbekistan jointly won the bronze medal.
