Ilam, Sept 14, IRNA � Iraq will open new consulates general in the Iranian provinces of Ilam and Kurdestan, Secretary of Free Zones Coordination Council Ali Akbar Torkan said on Sunday.
He made the remarks in a meeting with a visiting delegation from Iraq's Organization for Engineering Order of Building.
Iran hails opening of the new consulates general in western provinces of Ilam and Kurdestan aimed at facilitating trade, tourism and pilgrimage, Torkan added.

He welcomed signing of an agreement between Ilam branch of Iran's Organization for Engineering Order of Building and Iraq's Vaset province.

Referring to Iran-Iraq commonalities, Torkan announced Iran's preparedness to help reconstruct the war-torn country.
