30 rural districts identified for Boomgardi Scheme
Tehran, Sept 13, IRNA - Thirty rural districts have been identified for implementing Boomgardi Tourism Scheme across the provinces, said Mohammad Ali Fayyazi, a senior official of Irans Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO).
Boomgardi means using local houses, particularly in villages, which have tourism potentials, wrote Saturday's edition of 'Iran Daily'.
Fayyazi added that Boomgardi huts, which observe the requisite standards, would be launched in these regions.

Also, equipments required by domestic and foreign tourists will also be supplied in Boomgardi huts, he said.

The official noted that Boomgardi huts would be constructed for tourists by using construction materials in harmony with the landscape of villages.

Boomgardi Tourism Scheme will help generate income for villagers, he said.

He added that the northern province of Golestan boasts of important coastal, forest and desert areas for conducting the scheme.

Fayyazi noted that the plan to organize Ashouradeh Island has been approved by ICHHTO and will be notified to Golestans officials for implementation in the near future. Feasibility studies of the first phase have been completed.

Reza Moravvati, the head of Permanent Taskforce for Traveling to Golestan Province, said Golestan province boasts of good tourism potentials and attracts domestic and foreign visitors.

Moravvati added that domestic officials and entities, particularly ICHHTO, should introduce the natural potentials of Golestan province with the help of national broadcaster IRIB.

Although the provincial media outlets have taken steps to introduce the tourist sites of Golestan province, we need more work from IRIB, he said.
