TEHRAN August 31 (Shana)--The latest statistics released by the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) show that distribution of euro-4 gasoline has grown by 5.3 times during the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, since March 21 2014, against similar period last year.
Distribution of euro-4 gasoline as one of the top priorities of NIOPDC has reached from 2.5 million liters per day on average last year to 13.3 million liters per day this year implying 433 percent growth year on year.
Since taking office in August last year, Prudence and Hope government has decided to reduce pollution in the mega cities and has tasked the petroleum ministry with distribution of euro-4 gasoline and gasoil in mega cities in order to improve the quality of air and protect the environment.
NIOPDCs figures also show that eruo-4 gasoil distribution has gone up 2.4 times over the first four months of current year against corresponding period last year hitting 6.3 million liters per day.
Environmental reports indicate that distribution of euro-4 gasoline and gasoil in mega cities has considerably contributed to reduction of air pollution in the capital and other populated cities.
