Tehran, Aug 24, IRNA � Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on Sunday morning for a two-day official visit.
While in Baghdad, Zarif will hold talks with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari on issues of mutual interests, regional developments and the 1975 Algiers Agreement.
Zarif is also scheduled to congratulate Haider Al-Abadi on his appointment as the new Iraqi prime minister.

Zarif?s visit is upon an invitation by his Iraqi counterpart.

The 1975 Algiers Agreement was between Iran and Iraq to settle their border disputes such as the Iranian territorial waters at Arvand Rud and served as basis for the bilateral treaties signed on 13 June and 26 December 1975.
