Envoy calls for Iran's further cooperation in treating Afghan patients

TEHRAN (FNA)- Afghanistan's Ambassador to Tehran Nasir Ahmad Nour asked the government in Tehran to increase cooperation with his country to receive and treat the Afghan patients in Iran.
Easing of formalities by the Iranian government will help the Afghan patients not to visit other countries for medical treatment, Ahmad Nour said on Wednesday.

The ambassador said that Iran is very strong in terms of modern facilities in its hospitals nationwide, encouraging the Afghan nationals to select Iran for medical treatment.

In the recent years, Iranian scientists and experts have taken wide leaps in scientific, medical and technological fields.

Iran is one of the most important donors to Afghanistan, which has kept its promises to help to the reconstruction of the war-ravaged country.

Iran has built several roads, power transmission lines, border stations and many other infrastructure projects to better link the two nations.

Iran has also contributed more than $50mln annually to Afghan anti-narcotics efforts during the last five years.

Last week, Afghan Foreign Minister Zarar Ahmad Osmani in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Kabul Mohammad Reza Bahrami called for the further expansion of relations with Tehran in all fields.

During the meeting in Kabul on Thursday, Osmani expressed satisfaction over the level of Tehran-Kabul cooperation, and said both states enjoy great potentials to expand cooperation.

Describing the bilateral relations as cordial, the Afghan top diplomat called for the promotion of all-out cooperation with Iran.

Bahrami, for his part, reiterated that the two nations enjoy amicable relations.
