TEHRAN (FNA)- President of Iran's Academy of Medical Sciences Seyed Alireza Marandi warned the UN Chief, Ban Ki-moon, that his inaction with regard to the ongoing genocide in Gaza has disgraced his body, and asked him to help Iran dispatch medical teams and aid to the besieged enclave to aid the war-stricken people who have been under Israel's barbaric attacks in the last 29 days."Providing medical access to women, children and those in agony is without a doubt the least of the responsibilities of an international organization that claims to defend human rights and dignity," Dr. Marandi said in a statement addressed to Ban Ki-moon.
"...the medical community of Iran...is ready to immediately send specialist medical teams complete with equipment to Gaza to save the lives of the injured in this painful tragedy," added the statement released Tuesday evening.
The president of Iran's Academy of Medical Sciences further warned the UN chief that his organization's inaction will produce nothing but ill-fame and disgrace for him and his body.

Excellency,
As you know during the past month the world has been witnessing a most tragic crime against humanity in the murdering of children, women and innocent civilians in Gaza. The reports published by the media and medical groups present in Gaza, narrate one of the most merciless human massacres in history. Most painful to bear is that the injured of these barbaric attacks are mostly children and women that are subjected to a total blockade. Sending medical aid as well as medical supplies and equipment is totally impossible under these conditions. Even more disturbing is the fact that biased remarks in favor of the apartheid regime have made it more impudent in the killing of women and children.
In response to this, the medical community of Iran, with respect to its humanitarian responsibilities, is ready to immediately send specialist medical teams complete with equipment to Gaza to save the lives of the injured in this painful tragedy. Providing medical access to women, children and those in agony is without a doubt the least of the responsibilities of an international organization that claims to defend human rights and dignity. The silence of international organizations and their ineffective responses in the face of this cruelty towards children, women and the defenseless civilians of Gaza will be remembered in history and judged by generations to come.

Israeli warplanes have been pounding numerous sites in the Gaza Strip since July 8, demolishing houses and burying families under the rubble. Israeli forces also began a ground offensive against the impoverished Palestinian land on July 17.
The Palestinian death toll in Israels onslaught on Gaza has now reached nearly 1,865, with over 10,000 people injured. Most of the casualties have been civilians, including a large number of women and children.
Meantime, over 520,000 of Gazans, nearly one out of four, have been displaced as a result of the recent aggressions made by Israeli forces against the besieged enclave.
Yesterday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Israeli has been seeking hard to annihilate infrastructures in the Gaza Strip, adding that Israel has targeted 40,000 houses in the enclave and destroyed 23,000 of them almost entirely.
"A sum of 40,000 houses have been targeted in Gaza in the Israeli attacks in the last month, out of which over 23,000 have been nearly destroyed and 17,000 have been completely annihilated," Zarif said, addressing the closing ceremony of the ministerial emergency meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Palestine Committee here in Tehran on Monday evening.
