TEHRAN August (Shana)--Gas injection into oil fields run by National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) during the first four months of Irans calendar year (which started on March 21) has increased by 27 percent, a gas official said.Abdol-Hossein Koutaki said 4.5 bcm of gas was injected into the fields for enhancing oil recovery.
He said 900 mcm was injected into Karanj-Parsi field, 380 mcm to Koupal field and 3.3 bcm to Aghajari field.
Iran injects into gas fields in order to increase recovery from them.
Gas injection is a method applied to mature fields.
