Iran petchem export hits $838m

Tehran, Aug 4, IRNA - Iran has exported over 830,000 tons of petrochemical products, worth dlrs 838 million, in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2014), it was announced here on Monday.
Managing Director of Irans National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Abbas Sheri-Moqaddam said the country plans to increase its annual petrochemical exports to 180 million tons from the current 60 million tons, once the semifinished and new petrochemical projects go on stream.
He added that during the previous year, more than 40 million tons of petrochemicals were produced in the country.
