A view of Iran's Majlis[/caption]Iranian lawmakers are preparing a double-urgency motion to send aid to the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Next week, a double-urgency motion will be submitted to the Majlis presiding board, which allows the government to send humanitarianaid to Gaza and the West Bank if approved, said Deputy Chairman of Irans Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Esmail Kosari in a Sunday interview.
The Iranian official stated that once the bill is approved, necessary budget will be allocated for dispatching food and medicine to Gaza and the West Bank.
Kosari pointed out that the motion has been initiated in response to a recent US Congress bill to send aid to Israel.
On Friday, the US Congress approved a bill to provide USD 225 million in emergency aid to Israel for its Iron Dome missile system.
Iran has called on the international community to launch a humanitarian campaign in support of the impoverished war-hit Gaza Strip.
Irans first planeload of humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip has been dispatched to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and awaits transfer permit via the Rafah border crossing.
The Israeli regime has been targeting the Gaza Strip with military attacks since July 8. The air, sea and land strikes have so far killed at least 1,755 people and injured over 9,200 others, according to Palestinian sources. Nearly 400 children are among the fatalities.
Meanwhile, thousands of people have staged demonstrations in different countries around the world in protest against the ongoing Israeli military aggression against Palestinians in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
