Austrian President Heinz Fischer will reportedly pay a visit to Iran after the November deadline for nuclear negotiations between Tehran and the six world powers over the Islamic Republics nuclear energy program.
Fischers pre-planned visit to Iranhas beendelayed due to the extensionof nuclear talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council the US, Britain, France, Russia and China -- plus Germany, the Austrian news agency APA reported on Thursday.

Earlier in April, Reuters quoted Fischer's spokesman as saying that the Austrian presidents invitation from the Iranian side had been accepted in principle, but no date had been set.

Astrid Salmhofer, a spokeswoman for Austrian presidency, said that consultations are underway between Tehran and Vienna to determine the date for Fischers trip, butadded thatthe visit is expected to take place after November 24, when the deadline for the nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 will expire.

The Austrian president will be accompanied by a high-ranking economic delegation to explore investment opportunities in Iran, the report said.

Fishers visit to Iran will be the first trip by a European head of state to the Islamic Republic since 2005.

Iran and the six world powers agreed on the extension of talks until November 24 with a view to achieving a permanent deal that would end the decade-old dispute over Irans nuclear energy program.

The two sides sealed an interim deal in Geneva, Switzerland, on November 23, 2013, for a six-month period. The deal, which took effect on January 20, expired on July 20.
