Qom, July 26, IRNA - Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpayegani in a telephone conversation with Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani discussed the latest developments in Iraq.
Ayatollah Golpayegani expressed regret over the critical situation in Iraq and condemned the brutal attacks of the enemies of Islam against civilians there.
He also urged the Iraqi people to pay due attention to guidlines of Ayatollah Sistani on foiling threats and plots of the enemies of Islam.

Ayatollah Sistani, for his part, said the terrorist group of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) also known as Daesh is highly active in Iraq and Syria and has occupied northern parts of the two countries.
