Iran, Philippines to increase private sector cooperation
Tehran, July 11, IRNA Iranian Ambassador to Manila Ali-Asghar Mohammadi and Chairman of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Alfredo Yao, in a meeting on Friday, called for enhanced cooperation between private sectors of the two countries.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed ways to expand economic relations between Tehran and Manila.


Referring to 50 years of Iran-Philippines diplomatic ties, they underlined the need to encourage further participation of private sectors of both countries in bilateral cooperation.

The Philippine official hailed Iran?s special status in the international arena and called for more efforts by both sides to give a boost to cooperation between chambers of commerce of both nations.

The two sides also reviewed potentials for further cooperation between the two countries in different areas, including energy, petrochemical industry, agriculture, transportation, tourism, and banking sector.

In the meantime, the Iranian ambassador presented an invitation letter by chairman of Iran?s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture, Gholam-Hossein Shafei, to his Filipino counterpart to visit Iran.
