TEHRAN June 28 (Shana)--Iran will see its gas exports rise to 10 bcm, from 9 bcm, this calendar year to March 2015, director for planning at National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said.
Last [calendar year], 9 bcm of gas was exported. In the current year, with the gas production capacity increase by 80 to 100 mcm, the countrys gas exports will rise to 10 bcm, Hassan Montazer Torbati said.
He added that gas supply to power plants willalsobe up 3 bcm this year compared with last calendar year. Torbati said the industrial sector is to receive 33 bcm of gas this year. During the first quarter of the current year, gas supply to power plants reached 130, 150 and 170 mcm during the three months. Iran sits atop the worlds largest gas reserves in the world.
