The first Iranian film festival in Singapore has been warmly received by both Iranian and native residents of the Southeast Asian island country.The Speaker of Singapores Parliament Halimah Yaqob along with a number of Singaporean officials attended the festivals opening ceremony.
Hundreds of people also flocked to the Irans cinematic event and praised the screened movies.
Asghar Farhadis Academy Award-winning movie A Separation opened the festival on June 19.
The Hidden Half by Tahmineh Milani, The Wedlock by Rouhollah Hejazi, So Far, So Close by Seyyed Reza Mirkarimi and I Feel Sleepy by Reza Attaran are among the festivals film lineup.
A number of Iranian films had been earlier screened at the Singapores annual International Film Festival (SIFF).
Iranian filmmaker and actor Mehrshad Karkhani's National Alley was warmly received in the 24th edition of the Singapore International Film Festival in 2011.
