TEHRAN, June 22 (MNA) � Iran�s deputy minister of industry, mine and trade has said the country had exported ceramics and tiles worth 450m dollars.
On the sidelines of The 22nd�International Tile, Ceramic & Sanitary Ware Fair, Jafar Sarqini told IRNA that minister of industry, mine and trade aimed at increasing the exportation worth up to 4 or 5 billion dollars.
In the exhibition last five years active ceramics and tiles producers exhibited their latest technologies in addition to digital prints on them.
�All imported tiles and ceramics during last year soared to 1m square meters. The ministry does not welcome imports of ceramics, since it brings about competitions and indigenous products expansion,� he said.
Iraq and Afghanistan are among the markets of Iran�s products of ceramics and tile industries.
�Iranian products presence in far east shows that the Iranian producers are powerful enough to fill their bazaars,� added he.
The 22nd�International Tile, Ceramic & Sanitary Ware Fair opened in Tehran and will continue till�June 25�with 45 companies from twelve countries attending.
