Genevas inconclusive nuclear talks show that Iranian nuclear negotiators have refused to bow to Western pressure and give up the Islamic Republics nuclear rights, a senior analyst tellsPress TVin an interview.The fact that the Iranian delegation did not submit to any unreasonable demands made by Western regimes and governments shows thatIran is not going to relinquish Iranian rights with regard to its nuclear program, Mohammad Marandi said on Sunday.
He said the failure of Western governments to reach a deal with Iran showed that the Iranian representatives in the Geneva talks from November 7 to 9 were speaking from a position of strength.
I think Western countries will finally have to come to the recognition that no matter what government comes to power in Iran, they will have to recognize Iranian governments insistence for Iranian rights to be preserved, said Marandi.
The closed-door talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- Britain, Russia, China, France and the US -- plus Germany, began in Geneva, Switzerland, on Thursday and continued for three days.
In a joint press conference with EU foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said progress was made during the productive talks and that the two sides had reached an agreement on a number of issues.
Marandi said the Islamic Republic has shown flexibility in the talks in a bid to help resolve any ambiguities that may exist with regard to Irans nuclear program.
He noted that Iran will not give up its uranium enrichment and will not give up any of its rights within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
