TEHRAN (Tasnim) � Iran�s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian and his Russian counterpart Mikhail Bogdanov on Thursday exchanged views on the most recent developments in Syria, Yemen, and Libya.

In a meeting held in the Iranian foreign ministry in Tehran, Amir Abdollahian described Iranian high-ranking officials' approach to the improvement of ties with neighbors, Middle Eastern countries in particular, as positive.

�In recent negotiations between the (Iranian) foreign minister and Kuwaiti and Qatari officials, it was stressed that the resolution of regional issues including those in Bahrain, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq has no way but a political solution based on the win-win principle,� he added.

The Iranian official went on to say that that the approach is an opportunity for regional states to remove the existing barriers and expand their mutual cooperation in line with the interests of the Middle East nations.

Amir Abdollahian further slammed dangerous plots in the region and regretted that some Middle East countries are resorting to military approaches for resolving the problems in the region.

Bogdanov, for his part, underscored the necessity for further negotiations between regional states, Iran and Saudi Arabia in particular, for achieving an understanding on the ongoing issues using the recent nuclear conclusion reached between Tehran and world powers as a model.

�Resolving regional issues including (those of) Syria and Yemen is not possible without the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran,� the Russian official stressed, warning that the continuation of the current situation would just embolden terrorists.

Bogdanov, who is Russian President Vladimir Putin's special representative in Middle Eastern affairs, arrived in Tehran on Tuesday to hold talks with Iranian officials as well as the visiting Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem in the Iranian capital.

The talks are mainly focused on the ways to end the ongoing crises in such countries as Syria and Yemen.
