The foreign policy of the United States is primarily directed by Israels interests and right-wing, extremist elements in the Republican Party, a political analyst from Virginia says.
American foreign policy is essentially guided by Israeli partisan interests within the domestic United States itself, said Keith Preston, chief editor and director of AttacktheSystem.com, a website dedicated to encouraging revolt against domestic and foreign US government policies.
The Republican Party is essentially, at least when it comes to Mid East policy, is sort of the American branch of the Likud Party, which is Israels right-wing nationalist party, Preston told Press TV on Sunday.
In the United States, theres a great deal of pressure on the Obama administration to take a hard-line against Iran thats largely coming from the political right, primarily Israeli partisans within the United States who are connected to some of the most extremist elements within domestic Israeli politics, he added.
Preston rejected a recent warning by US Secretary of State John Kerry that he is willing to walk away from the Iran nuclear talks. "We are not going to sit at the negotiating table forever," Kerry told reporters on Friday in Vienna, where the talks are taking place.
Iran and the P5+1 countries - the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany - have been engaged in crucial talks in Vienna towards reaching a landmark agreement over Tehrans nuclear program.
What Kerry is doing is simply putting up a smoke and mirror show where the administration is trying to make it look like theyre leaning on Iran in order to appease right-wing Israeli partisan elements within the United States, primarily in the Republican Party, Preston said.
Theres a goal among certain elites within the United States and within Israel as well to create an American-Israeli co-prosperity sphere in the Middle East; this is one of the primary reasons why the United States has long been so bent on eliminating governments which are not American puppets in that region, he added.
The real objective of the Americans or at least the right wing of the American foreign policy establishment and the Israelis is the elimination of any opposition to Israeli expansionism in the Middle East and any opposition to American military and economic hegemony in the Middle East, he stated.
