Road Maintenance & Transportation Organization has announced that from August 6 to August 17, some 2,055,396 pilgrims passed through Iran’s border crossings to take part in this year’s Arbaeen processions in Iraq.

According to The Iran Project, as Arbaeen approaches, Iranian pilgrims are making their way to Karbala through various means, including overland journeys, sea travel, and foot pilgrimages. Their deep devotion to visiting the shrine of Imam Hossein (AS) is evident, with many undertaking long and arduous trips to honor the sacred occasion.
