The deputy of transport and traffic of Tehran Municipality says the Ministry of Industry has assigned 9 automobile manufacturers to provide 40,000 electric taxis.

Iran’s largest automaker the Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) announced that the National Competition Council has not accepted its request for the car price increase.

The spokesperson for the Iranian National Competition Council says the council is responsible for regulating the car market, and the Ministry of Industry is only the technical regulator of the car market.

The secretary of the Iranian Association of Parts Makers announced that a resolution was ratified to sell 120,000 cars by the end of the year at 5% below the market price.

The Deputy Minister of Transport Industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade says six car manufacturers in the country, including two large automakers as well as manufacturers in the private sector, are producing electric cars in cooperation with Chinese companies within the 25-year strategic plan inked between Iran and China.
