The Iraqi ambassador to Tehran has said that trade between Iran and Iraq has exceeded 10 billion dollars and expressed hope that this amount will increase to 20 billion dollars.

Iran exported about $3 billion worth of products to the neighboring Iraq in the first three months of this year in the Iranian calendar (started March 21, 2024), showing a 28% increase compared to same period last period.

Iran exports some 2,200 products, valued at $12 billion, to neighboring Iraq annually, the head of the Department of Spatial Planning and Regional Planning of the Iranian Plan and Budget Organization said.

Iran’s exchange of trade with neighboring Iraq registered a 30% growth in the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2023, to March 19, 2024), according to an official at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

The director general of the West Asia Department of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) said Iran’s exports of technical and engineering services to Iraq has reached $4 billion.
