Iran, Russia emphasize need to strengthen cooperation

IRNA - The Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation and agreed on continuing regular bilateral talks aimed at institutionalizing these cooperation.


Consultations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation on International Information Security were held in Tehran on Tuesday.

Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cooperation on Information Security Andrey Krutskikh and Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International affairs Gholam Hossein Dehqani chaired the two countries' delegations.

The two sides exchanged information on a range of topics of interest related to international security and expressed their concern about the challenges and threats of malicious use of information-communication technologies.

Also, the problems of coping with the use of these technologies for criminal and terrorist purposes were discussed.

The Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran have emphasized the importance of continued cooperation in the field of securing international information with the central role of the United Nations.
