IRNA � Iranian Army has taken the responsibility for safeguarding the common borders with Afghanistan, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said.

Baqeri made the remarks Monday, addressing a conference with the attendance of the army ground forces commanders.

He vowed more secure borders after ceding the mission to Iranian army.

Afghanistan is facing concerns and insecurity; he said adding that accidents are likely to happen at common border points.
