MNA Iraqi government spokesman Saad al-Hadithi told Sputnik Thu. that his country will look for mechanisms to neutralize the influence of US sanctions and to support trade relations with Iran.
"The sanctions will influence, first of all, money transfers and banking operations inthe US dollar. The sides will not use the US dollar," al-Hadithi told Russian Sputnik onThursday, adding that the move would result ina decline intrade betweenthe two countries and thus affect the consumers.
He stressed that the Iraqi government would try tofind "a new mechanism" inorder tosupport trade relations with Iran.
"In any case, the government will seek tosolve all the problems related to the issue, it will look for corresponding mechanisms toneutralize the [sanctions'] influence onthe Iraqi market and also prevent the damage caused tothe Iraqi citizens' interests," al-Hadithi said.
