Zarif in Nakhchivan to review issues of mutual interests
Iranian diplomat's stay in Nakhchivan witnessed a meeting with Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and a visit to a medical center in Duzdag.
Upon arrival in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Zarif briefed the media on the objectives and agenda of his visit to Nakhchivan.
He said Iran has always backed the people of Nakhchivan in difficult times and as a result the Islamic Republic of Iran has good relations with people and administration of Nakhchivan, adding that there are extensive cultural interactions and also economic cooperation between the two sides.
Talking to Zarif, Talibov said relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are progressing well in diverse areas and the people of Iran and Nakhchivan easily cross the border, noting that the number of tourists has increased and Iranian students study in Nakhchivan with no problems.
Talibov also emphasized the significance of customs regulations in the development of bilateral relations between the two sides, and called for further expansion of cooperation in this field.
The Iranian diplomatic chief, for his part, thanked the Nakhchivani side for their hospitality and asserted that bilateral ties between Iran and Nakhchivan are extending.
Zarif also expressed readiness of his country to export medical services to Azerbaijans Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan.
Proper grounds exist for expansion of cooperation in the fields of industrial livestock production, medical treatment, and creation of pharmaceutical enterprises as well as dispatching physicians, tourism, transportation, and joint production, the visiting foreign minister stated.
Eventually, Irans foreign minister backed in Tehran late on Friday after completing his 4-day visit to Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
