71 foreign media covering Islamic Revolution anniv. celebration

IRNA The rallies and celebrations marking Iran's 39th Islamic Revolution anniversary are being covered by 125 journalists from 71 regional and international media, an Iranian official said on Sunday.


'Some 125 journalists from Austria, Spain, Australia, Afghanistan, US, Britain, Germany, Turkey, China, Russia, United Arab Emirate, Japan, Syria, France, Palestine, Qatar, South Korea, Colombia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxemburg, Norway, the Netherlands, and Yemen cover the rallies of Iranian people in commemoration of the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution,' Director General of Foreign Media in Iran's Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance Alireza Shiravi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on the sidelines of the rally in Tehran.

'Moreover, some 150 correspondents of the Iran-based foreign media will also file the news stories of this magnificent event using the local media and their correspondents,' he said.

Today, people all across Iran are commemorating the 39th anniversary of its Islamic Revolution in form of rallies. The day of Imam Khomeini's return to Iran from exile (Feb 1, 1979) marks the beginning of the Ten-Day Dawn in ceremonies which culminate with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11, 1979.

Iranian people toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 39 years ago, ending 2,500 years of absolute monarchy in the country.
