Iran's non-oil foreign trade hits 78 bln USD in 10 months

Xinhua - Iran's non-oil trade with other countries in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year, starting from March 21, 2017, stood at 78.41 billion U.S. dollars, Financial Tribune reported on Sunday.

The figures indicated a rise of 9.5 percent compared with the previous year, according to the report.

The country's exports amounted to 99.3 million tons with a value of 35.61 billion U.S. dollars indicating 7 percent decline in weight and 2 percent drop in value compared to last year.

Imports amounted to 30.49 million tons worth 42.8 billion U.S. dollars, up 10 percent in weight and 22 percent in value compared with the same period last year.

Petrochemical exports accounted for nearly 30 percent in terms of value and 23 percent in terms of weight of Iran's total exports.

Other major exported commodities during the period were gas condensates, liquefied propane, light crude oil, excluding gasoline, methanol and granulated hematite iron ore.

Imports mainly included auto parts, field corn, rice, soybean, vehicles of engine displacement between 1500 cc and 2000 cc.

China, the UAE, Iraq, South Korea and India were the main destinations of Iran's exports.
