September 23, The Iran Project � On the sixth day of his visit, Iran�s Foreign kMinister Mohammad-Javad Zarif, who is in New York to attend the 72nd UN General Assembly meeting, has held talks with his several counterparts.

Zarif held talks with counterparts from Japan Taro Kono, Eduard Nalbandyan from Armenia as well as Anifah Aman from Malaysia.

In a meeting with Kono, Zarif said the current US administration policies signal that negotiation with Washington is useless.

Commenting on the Korean peninsula, Zarif said that Iran denounces any proliferation, test or development of nuclear weapons.

Kono, for his part, described Iran as an 'important and ancient' country in the world and said that his country has reminded all the countries of the importance of Iran nuclear deal.

Expressing his country's opposition to the independence referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan region, the Japanese diplomat said that integrity and unity of Iraq is of great importance to Tokyo.

Meanwhile,Armenia's Nalbandyan described Yerevan-Tehran relations as proper, adding that�the Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan is slated a pay an official visit to Tehran within days.

Nalbandyan�described tourism as the most important issue in the economic relations between the two countries, adding that Armenia has approved visa-free travel between Tehran and Yerevan to lure more tourists from Islamic Republic.

Zarif in a meeting with his Malaysian counterpart underlined the need for upholding unity among Muslims countries, adding that there is a need for reinforcing Muslim unity in the Muslim world to resolve the current crises in the regional countries.

Zarif and Aman exchanged views on the expansion of relations within the framework of the international bodies, the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in particular.

The Iranian and Malaysian foreign ministers stressed the importance of reinforcing unity in the Muslim world to overcome crises in Yemen, Myanmar and Syria through peaceful approaches.
