24 News Agency- Iran is ready to invest in the construction of small hydropower plants. Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Iran to Kyrgyzstan Ali Mojtaba Ruzbehani said at a meeting with chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Mining Duyshenbek Zilaliev, press service of the committee reported.
According to the Iranian ambassador, the trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Iran do not correspond to the level that prevailed in the political sphere. He noted that the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to less than $ 30 million.
As the Ambassador said, the large Iranian companies were ready to invest in the construction of small hydropower plants and small reservoirs. However, according to him, there is a number of fundamental issues that hinder the development of bilateral relations: interbank communication is not organized, issuance of visas is delayed and there is no direct Bishkek - Tehran flight.
Duyshenbek Zilaliev promised to inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the problems that hinder business.
"We are ready to offer Iran attractive projects. As you know, Kyrgyzstan has one of the most liberal tax regimes in the region," the head of the state committee said.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan is interested in development of relations in the spheres of oil and gas processing, textile and food production.
