Islamic countries should join hands against terrorists: Speaker

IRNA Islamic countries should join hands against terrorist groups, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said on Monday.

He made the remarks in a joint press conference with Chairman of Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Zulkifli Hasan.

Indonesia is one of the influential countries in the Islamic World and had always close relations with Iran, Larijani added.

He praised Indonesia's rational approach towards Iran and regional issues.

Larijani called for promotion of parliamentary and trade relations between the two countries.

Indonesia is keen to re-activate Tehran-Jakarta trade chamber, he noted.

Larijani said that Iran and Jakarta have close views towards regional issues.

Noting that the regional crises and instability in some regional states are in the interests of Israel, he called for resolution of problems through political ways and dialogue.

The Islamic countries should be united against terrorist groups, Larijani said.

He called his talks with his Indonesian counterpart constructive.

Zulkifli Hasan arrived Iran on Sunday for an official four-day visit.
