Tehran, Oct 4, IRNA � Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday that political means are the only way for settlement of the regional disputes.


He made the remarks in meeting with the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Ms. Sigrid Kaag.

Araqchi underlined Iran's principle policy to support stability and peace in Lebanon, saying that the regional crises are interlinked.

Ms. Sigrid Kaag arrived in Tehran on Sunday afternoon.

She consulted with Iranian officials on wayout of the current Lebanese problems, including the consensus the political parties must make for election of the Lebanese president.

She explained existing problems in Lebanon and impact of regional developments on political issues of Lebanon, including presence of a great deal of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

She underlined necessity of the support to be made by the regional governments for the United Nations efforts to help Lebanese parties reach consensus on national issues.
