Iran, Brazil reach initial agreement on importing 20 airplanes

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran and Brazil have reached an initial agreement for importing 20 new Brazilian airplanes, said Managing Director of Iran's Zagros Airline Houshang Sediq.

We have had talks with different foreign companies over past weeks and months to pave the way for importing new planes to the country. One of the companies has been Brazilian Embraer and hopefully our talks with the company had brought about positive outcomes.

Zagros Airlines has said that it is capable of buying 20 135-seat planes, he said, adding the Brazilian company went back to the country after initial agreement to finalize the issue.

He said that the Iranian company would pay 10 percent in cash and the remaining would be through financing the manufacturing company.
