Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA Managing Director of Iran's Mapna company said that his company has manufactured the country's first 2.5 megawatts wind turbine.
'Only one company in the US can manufacture turbines similar to Mapna's,' Abbas Aliabadi said on the sidelines of the 15th Electricity Industry Exhibition on Wednesday.
He underlined that one of capabilities of Mapna's 2.5 megawatts turbines is generating electricity in the critical regions.
Iran has indigenized the know-how for manufacturing wind turbines, and plans to build at least 250 units of two-MW turbines in the next three years.
Iran plans to manufacture 250 2-MW wind turbines in a three-year period, some of which will be used in the country and some others will be exported to the international markets.
Iran's Roudbar County, in Gilan Province, has the capacity of generating at least 700 MW of electricity through wind turbines.
