Irans new Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari will officially assume office.
Ansari replaces Marzieh Afkham, who was in the position since September 2013, following the presidential election that saw Hassan Rouhani taking office at the helm of the executive branch of the Iranian administration.
On October 28, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif picked Ansari, who had served as Irans ambassador to Beirut and the ministrys director general forthe Middle East and North Africa.
Afkham, a career diplomat, is also scheduled to move to Malaysia to become Irans first female ambassador after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
