Prayers leader calls for formation of fact-finding committee for Mina case

Tehran, Oct 9, IRNA Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Hojjatoleslam Kazem Sediqi on Friday called for formation of a fact-finding committee to follow up the September 24 Hajj tragedy.

Delivering his second Friday prayers sermon, Hojjatoleslam Sediqi said blockade of the roads to the site of `Satan Stonning and Saudis behavior towards survivors of the catastrophe all prove the incident was intentional.
He said so, a fact-finding committee should follow up the case.
He added that by insulting, the Saudis denied human value , underestimating Hajj and Hajj pilgrims.
The deadly stampede took place on September 24 in Mina, also known as the Tent City, situated 5 kilometers to the east of the Holy city of Mecca.

The death toll from the overcrowding has been revised several times, ranging from 1,000 to 4,700.

With 464 pilgrims, Iran lost more people to the crush than any other country.
