PSEEZ monthly exports fetch $1.2b

Tehran, May 4, IRNA Iran exported goods worth more than $1.2 billion in one month through Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in the south of the country.

Mehdi Yousefi, PSEEZ director general, said on Sunday that nearly 1.9 million tons of goods including low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), gas condensates, propane, butane, benzene, paraxylene and cement were exported from the energy zone in the month to April 21, Shana reported.

He added the exports show a 35-percent increase in weight.

More than 860,000 tons of gas condensates valued at more than $495 million were exported during the period, he added.

South Pars Gas Field is located in the Persian Gulf straddling the Iran-Qatar border and extending over an area of 3,700 square kilometers. The field is estimated to contain 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of condensates. Gas production projects in Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone have been divided into 28 phases.

National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) announced last June that all phases of the South Pars development project will come on stream in the near future.
