Turkey appreciates border services to truck drivers in Khorasan Razavi
Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Prov., Dec 17, IRNA Head of the Foreign Ministry representative office in north and east of the country announced official appreciation of the Turkish government for the services and facilities rendered to Turkish drivers and truck owners in entry-exit points of Khorasan Razvi.
Speaking to IRNA, Gholamabbas Arbab Khales said the Turkish Consul General in Mashhad, Mehmet Dogan, in recent days has inspected two outgoing border terminals in the province; Lotfabad and Sarakhs.
The Turkish diplomat while closely inspecting conditions of the Turkish drivers and the process of offering services to them, talked to a number of them personally.

Arab Khales further remarked that the Turkish consul general in Mashhad described his inspection tour as good and noted: There is no serious problem on Khorasan Razi border with regard to transit limitations by Turkmenistan.

After his inspection, the Turkish official through an official note appreciated the services extended to Turkish transit drivers on Khorasan borders.

Arbab Khales continued by saying that the Turkish consul general termed the extent of cooperation of Khorasan Razavi especially its border customs and terminals as valuable with regard to the facilities offered to them.

He said although Mehmet Dogan has been in Khorasan for only a few months, however meetings have been held with him for the development of trend of cooperation in the area of transit and so far cooperation has been satisfactory in this regard.

Khorasan Razavi has five customs offices including two in Dargaz; one in Sarakhs; one in Taybad; and one in Mashhad.

Khorasan Razavi holding 14% of the total transit commodities ranked second in the country last year. The annual transit of goods to and from the province is about two million tons annually.

In the field of outgoing transit of goods Sarakhs and Lotfabad ranks second after Bandar Imam and Bandar Abbas. About one fourth of the incoming and outgoing commodities are done through Lotfabad and Sarakhs by incoming Turkish tucks from Bazargan border.
