The deadline is now less than12 hours away.
The P5+1 group ofsix world powers joined the diplomatic efforts in2006 followingWestern countries suspicion that Iran is trying tobuild a nuclear weapon. Tehran, inturn, has repeatedly stated that its nuclear program ispeacefuland that the country would not give upon it. During talks inGeneva inNovember 2013, the international mediators agreed toreach a long-term comprehensive agreement withTehran byJuly 2014, however due toa number ofremaining differences inopinions, the deadline was postponed toNovember 24, 2014.
