Passenger train derails in Northeastern Iran
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Tehran-Mashhad passenger train derailed between the cities of Shirin Cheshmeh and Shahroud in Semnan province, Northeastern Iran, on Sunday afternoon, but the incident caused no casualty.
"The Mashhad-Tehran train was faced with technical problem between Shirin Cheshmeh and Shahroud stations at 15:30 local time (1100 GMT)," Sadeq Sokri, a railway official, told FNA.

He said that the three derailed wagons were carrying the passengers' luggages only.

"The train later continued the journey after the derailed cargo wagons were detached, and it has now arrived at Shahroud station," Sokri said, adding that the incident caused no casualties.

7 people were injured in a collision between a passenger and a cargo trains in Southern Iran last month.

The accident happened in Tangeh Haft station near Andimeshk city in Southern Iran about 5:30 am (0100 GMT) on July 17 when the Shoushtar-Mashahd passenger train collided with a freight train coming from the Western province of Lorestan.
