TEHRAN (FNA)- As millions of Iranians, and millions more in Argentina, are waiting for the two sides' World Cup match, sources revealed the likely lineup of the Asians for their Saturday match.
According to the sources, the likely lineup arranged by Iran's manager Carlos Queiroz will be as follows:
Iran National Football Team stopped Nigeria at their first match in the tournament as the first draw in Brazil World Cup.
Carlos Queiroz who already had plenty of World Cup experience and the country's national team is hoping to make the most of it in Brazil, seemed satisfied with his side after the match.
Iran coach says he has no specific plan to stop Lionel Messi in tonight's Group F clash in Belo Horizonte, because Argentina also have a host of other top players in their team.
"Argentina are a great team. We will try to stop them. We need discipline and we need to be one step ahead of Argentina. We need to focus on the next ball, the next move, the next play," he said.
"But we can't think about playing against Messi. We will play against Argentina, against space and against time, because those are the things we can control. We can't focus only on Messi because Argentina also have Di Maria, Higuain, Aguero and many more great players," Queiroz stressed.
Carlos Queiroz has stated his intention to leave his position as Iran coach after the World Cup on Friday.
"I will end my relationship with Iran after the World Cup," Queiroz said.
"There was a moment when Iran proposed that I stay, and they still are showing that they want me here. But there is not enough support from the government, and it's clear that the interest in continuing doing the job we have been doing developing the national squads is over due to financial conditions," he added.
Iran, playing in the World Cup finals for the fourth time after 1978, 1998 and 2006, have been drawn in Group F alongside Argentina, Nigeria and Bosnia-Hercegovina.
