Tehran, June 18, IRNA - The celebrated Iranian vocalist Mohammad Reza Shajarian is to receive Frances most prestigious award, Chevalier des Arts et Lettres medal, for his lifetime achievements in Persian classics.Iran?s legendary vocalist would receive the medal next week.
Shajarian is the second Iranian vocalist that receives the medal.
Iran?s undisputed icon of Kurdish and Persian classical and Sufi music, Shahram Nazeri also received the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres medal in 2007.
