Tehran, March 15, IRNA Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Saturday that Iran and Azerbaijan enjoy abundant capacities that should be used for further promotion of ties and economic cooperation.
In a meeting with Kamaladdin Heydarov, Azeri President Ilham Aliyevs special envoy to Iran, President Rouhani said that Iran is determined to boost relations with neighboring countries, including Azerbaijan.
In the meantime, the Azerbaijani envoy presented President Aliyevs message to his Iranian counterpart.
Heydarov said the resolve of the Iranian President Rouhani and that of President Aliyev to bolster Tehran-Baku ties would bear fruit.
The Azeri envoy said that the governments of the two neighboring nations are willing to develop economic and cultural cooperation in light of the longstanding cultural and religious affinities.
Referring to an imminent visit to Iran by Azerbaijans President Ilham Aliyev, Heydarov said that the Azeri government is determined to use the positive climate provided by the government of President Rouhani who was elected in a landslide victory on June 14 presidential election.
